Ministries at Brown Street are organized into 26 main areas, each encompassing numerous programs and activities. These initiatives only succeed with volunteers! To discover how you can contribute and serve, reach out to the ministry deacons or coordinators listed below.
The Children’s Ministry offers children cradle roll through fifth grade with opportunities for spiritual growth through positive peer groups and Bible teaching.
The 2471 Youth Group strives to give young people sixth through twelfth grade a positive, spiritually-focused peer group, offering opportunities for growth in their love for the Lord and navigating living life for Him.
The Family Ministry promotes and encourages the development of healthy, happy, nurturing families by providing activities that bring families together and that promote spiritual growth in the home. This ministry also provides resources to help parents fulfill their role as the primary spiritual teachers, leaders, and mentors for their children.
The Singles Ministry provides encouragement, support, fellowship, and spiritual training for all unmarried Brown Street members.
The PrimeTimers Ministry coordinates spiritual involvement and fellowship activities for Brown Street members who are ages 55 and older.
The 1:17 Ministry provides support for Brown Street’s widows and widowers.
Our Iglesia de Cristo ministers to those in our local community whose native language is Spanish.
The Benevolence Ministry provides assistance to Brown Street members who are in need; to the community at large (through the Christian Care Center) in the form of food, clothing, and hygiene products; and to victims of natural disasters throughout the country.
The Christian Fellowship Ministry brings Christians together through various activities to further strengthen the bond of fellowship within the Brown Street family.
The Church Support Ministry provides administrative support for all church functions and all areas of ministry through the church office.
The Communications Ministry coordinates all technology and communication needs of the congregation across all ministry areas, sharing information about Brown Street activities and events to audiences both internally and externally.
The Education Ministry coordinates all aspects of Brown Street’s Bible Classes, including recruiting and training teachers for all age levels, coordinating Bible class curriculum, and providing teacher support.
The Facility and Equipment Ministry keeps the Brown Street building and grounds well-maintained, well-functioning, and as attractive as possible at all times; maintains the church’s office and computer equipment; and maintains all church-owned vehicles.
The Future Growth Ministry provides input to the elders on the development of long-range plans for the growth and advancement of the Lord’s church in Waxahachie.
The Member Care Ministry provides special support for Brown Street members during times of need.
The Member Retention Ministry reaches out to Brown Street members, especially those who have been absent, in order to convey our love for them and their importance to the church family.
The Safety Ministry provides for the safety and security of Brown Street members and visitors during Bible classes, worship services, and other church activities and events.
The Visitors Follow-Up Ministry coordinates connection with those who have visited worship services.
The Community Outreach Ministry coordinates various programs and activities designed to demonstrate God’s love throughout the community (local and extended) through the loving and caring actions of Brown Street members.
The Evangelism Ministry coordinates Brown Street’s efforts to take the gospel message of salvation to our friends and neighbors locally.
The Helping Hands Ministry provides help to members who need assistance with basic home repairs and local moves, and aids with disaster relief efforts throughout the country.
The Missions Ministry coordinates Brown Street’s support for foreign and domestic mission efforts and children’s homes.
