Born and raised in Alice, Texas (Go Coyotes!), Paul was baptized in the Medina River at Bandina Christian Youth Camp in 1971. After high school, he went on to Texas A&M, where he was actively involved with Aggies for Christ (AFC). On an AFC trip to the Round Rock Church of Christ, he met his wife Susan, who was still in high school at the time. They started a long-distance relationship and were married a year and a half later in 1982.
He started his work with the Brown Street (formerly College Street Church of Christ) congregation in 1989 as the Youth Minister where he served for seventeen and a half years. He then moved to his current position as Involvement and Education Minister in 2008. He and Susan have a grown son, Justin, and a daughter Ashley who died at age 14 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Paul lists Romans 8:28 as his favorite verse and states that his favorite memories are of baptizing his two children at the College Street location. He has a great interest in genealogy and enjoys coin and stamp collecting. Paul is known for his huge laugh and joyful spirit, and he has met Chuck Norris and lived to tell about it.
