David Fittz has served as an elder for eight years and resumed this role for the Brown Street congregation in 2024. A graduate of Lake Highlands High School, he was baptized in 1971 at Lake Highlands Church of Christ. David holds a BBA in Accounting from Abilene Christian University and a Master's in Finance and Management from Amberton University. He met his wife Carol in Bible class, and they married in 1983 at Waterview Church of Christ. Together, they have three grown children—Andrew, Michael, and Katie—and six wonderful grandchildren who affectionately call him "Dubs."
In his younger years, David had several misadventures that helped shape him spiritually, such as getting hit by a car while riding his bike, and accidentally sinking his parents’ car in White Rock Lake with a friend. David learned to “trust God and lean not on his own understanding” like his favorite verse, Proverbs 3:5-8.
While establishing his career, David held various positions, but none as enjoyable as his last twelve years as Vice President & Secretary/Treasurer at Refrigeration Design Technologies (RDT), where he worked alongside many fellow congregation members. In his leisure time, David cherishes family moments, delves into spiritual books, teaches Bible class, cheers for the Dallas Mavericks, and actively participates in the Men's Ministry.
