CALVIN WASHINGTON

deacon

Calvin Washington, Sr., a retired Dallas Fireman, has spent his career dedicated to fire and rescue, demonstrating his commitment to serving others. Known for his extensive tool collection, he often spends his free time engaged in carpentry and yard work, with his son Calvin humorously referring to him as "Noah" because of his two-of-everything tool collection.

Originally from Dallas, Calvin completed his education at East Texas State University in Commerce. He has been married since 1980 to Sheila, and together they have raised three children: Shernard, Calvin Jr., and Chad. They are also proud grandparents to three grandchildren.

Calvin's spiritual journey began at a young age when he was baptized at 13 years old at Cedar Crest Church of Christ. His faith has remained a significant part of his life, and he lists James 1:5 as his favorite Bible verse. Calvin fondly recalls the love that was shown when he first visited Brown Street, and is thankful to return that love to so many others.
